Hi Guys,

Well, I’m afraid that as a result of Sunday Mornings 7am antics, Habitat 67 Complex is now instigating proceedings to have the access to habitat 67 for surfing closed off. Apparently surfers, spectators and media were all over the Habitat property, and the path, yelling and screaming, running jets skis etc all in the early morning (the problem is not the presence of the media or the surfers, but where they were, and the noise that resulted of the excitement). As a whole, about half of the Habitat complex “tollerate” our being there (while the other half are happy to see us there). This is changing quickly, and the president of the complex emailed me to inform me today that Sunday was “too much” and that they want to close off access. it’s not about the numbers of people there, but specifically the “lack of restraint and excess noise” that is the complaint.

I am in negoiations with them now to basically beg for forgiveness on behalf of the entire community of surfers for Sundays antics (even if I was not even there).

PLEASE GUYS… you HAVE to show respect for the residents of Habitat 67.

1) Leave your bicycles at the entrance to the trail. Buy a lock. If you don’t have a lock, then don’t even bring the bike. Tell tourists to do the same.

2) Be quiet. Don’t yell out at your freinds.

3)Pick up your trash. Empty the can I provided.

4) Don’t change up top.

5) NEVER cross the fense onto thier side. Tell tourists you see on that side nicely to walk arround and cross onto the path.

6) Don’t smoke drugs or drink alcohol in site of Habitat 67.

The most important thing is respect – no yelling and shouting, and no trespassing.
Thanks guys, on behalf of everyone for respecting the Habitat 67 Living Community.

Corran

What exactly happened on sunday morning? Some sort of gathering i assume because everytime i have been there at 7 am i have been alone or with 2-3 people tops.

I rarely go weekends but swung by today and seemed like there was 10-15 surfers and 10-15 people just watching curious about it.

Thank you again for helping us out Corran
